Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Compendro is operated by Emeldron S.L. (Spain), the data controller for the personal data described here. This policy covers the Compendro web app, mobile apps, and browser extension. For any privacy question or to exercise your rights, contact privacy@emeldron.com.

2. What we process, and why

• Your email and account identifier, to create and secure your account and send account and service emails - to perform our contract with you.
• The content you save, and metadata we fetch for it, to provide the read-later service - to perform our contract. To create optional summaries and transcripts, the saved content is sent to third-party AI and transcription providers.
• Billing data, to manage paid subscriptions - to perform our contract.
• Basic error and diagnostic data, to keep the service secure and working - our legitimate interest. Optional session-replay and analytics features run only with your consent.

We do not sell your personal data or use it for advertising.

3. Cookies and analytics on compendro.com

On the compendro.com website we use two analytics tools:

• Cloudflare Web Analytics counts page visits. It uses no cookies and stores nothing on your device, so it does not need your consent. We use it on the basis of our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) in knowing how many people visit the site.
• PostHog (EU Cloud, servers in the EU) runs only after you click Accept in the cookie banner. Before that, and after you click Reject, PostHog does not run: it sets no cookie, stores nothing in your browser, and sends nothing.

If you accept, PostHog:

• stores a random visitor ID in a first-party cookie for compendro.com and its subdomains (the name starts with ph_; it lasts up to one year) and in your browser's local storage and session storage, so that it can recognize your visits;
• records the pages you view and when you leave them, your clicks and form submissions on the site, the buttons you use on the way to sign-up and checkout, the first page, referring website and campaign labels of your visit, and technical data such as browser, device type, screen size, and page performance;
• records sessions (session replay), including technical messages from the browser console, so that we can see how people use our pages. What you type into form fields is masked and not recorded;
• assigns you to tests of different page texts (A/B tests), when a test is running.

If you accepted and then sign up, we send the visitor ID with your sign-up so that we can link your visit to your sign-up and purchase. We do not use this data for advertising.

Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). Consent is also required for cookies and similar storage by Art. 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive and Art. 22.2 of the Spanish LSSI (Law 34/2002).

Your choice: we store your choice in your browser's local storage, with the date and the version of this policy. We ask again after 12 months, or earlier when this section changes. You can change or withdraw your consent at any time with "Cookie settings" at the bottom of every page. When you click Reject, PostHog stops at once and we delete its cookie and stored data from your browser. Withdrawal does not affect processing before it. To delete data that PostHog already received, contact privacy@emeldron.com.

4. Who we share it with

We share personal data only with service providers who process it on our behalf and on our instructions: cloud hosting and database, a payment provider, AI summarization and transcription providers, an email provider, and a consent-gated analytics provider on the marketing site. Some processing also runs on our own self-hosted infrastructure.

5. International transfers

Your account data and saved content are stored in the EU. Website analytics in PostHog are stored on PostHog's EU servers. Where a provider is located outside the EEA (for example in the United States), the transfer relies on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

6. How long we keep it

We keep your account data and saved content while your account is active, and delete them when you delete your account. Billing records are kept for the period required by Spanish tax and commercial law. Diagnostic data is kept no longer than 90 days.

7. Your rights

You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, and object to processing of your personal data, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time (for website analytics, with "Cookie settings" at the bottom of every page). You can export your bookmarks and permanently delete your account from within the app. You can also lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD, www.aepd.es) or the authority in your country of residence.

8. Children

The service is for users aged 18 or over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

9. Changes

We may update this policy. We will update the effective date above and, for material changes, notify you.
